BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The District uses Alegion devices and Open Options System software provided through Hy-Tech Solutions, an authorized distributor. These are the components used to provide access control at Gerald Adams School, Plantation Key School and District Administration. Management's desire is to maintain the same software and equipment district wide which would allow staff to apply system knowledge when working to install/ repair as well as reuse/interchange equipment and provide an integrated access control system. Our next step is to expand the access control system to the three high schools (KWHS,MHS, CSHS) as well as Poinciana Elementary. Quotes were requested for all proposed new sites, althought they are not being done at the same time. In additon, we have requested quotes to purchase site licenses for existing systems located at PKS and GAE as well as all new sites to allow site operation of the system due to increased security demands.
