BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Florida School Board Attorneys Association (FSBAA) is a statewide organization created as a collegial body for the attorneys representing Florida’s 67 school districts. The organization meets quarterly to arrange for speakers to address the Association on current issues affecting school boards and to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information amongst the members. School Board Attorney/General Counsel dues are based on the FTE, Third Calculation as reported by DOE. Dues are charged at the rate of 2.2 cents per unweighted FTE. Minimum dues are $500.00 and maximum dues are $1,200.00. Dues for School Board Attorneys/General Counsels include membership in the NSBA Council of School Attorneys (COSA). If a SBA/GC wishes to join the Education Law Association (ELA), they may do so for an additional fee. Membership dues for the current year is $450 per person.
