Title
Approval of Emergency Purchase of Public Safety Distributed Antenna System (DAS) from Archis Technology for PKS and GAE Schools
end
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
On April 30, 2019, Archis Technologies provided a public safety and school-based radio coverage assessment to Monroe County School District for Plantation Key School and Gerald Adams Elementary. Poor signal coverage was measured at both school campuses based on two (2) channel groups provided by the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Emergency Communication Department. The majority failed the signal level requirements of NFPA 72, and the audio quality level was largely inaudible presenting an imminent danger to public safety. Signal amplification is achieved by installing a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) to ensure that first responders in a crisis are able to maintain communication.
