BACKGROUND INFORMATION
In accordance with Florida requirements, RFP 2019918 Medical Administrative Services Only went out to bid on 4/4/2019 via Demand Star. 100 suppliers were notified and there were 6 planholders. 2 bid packages were received. Gallagher Benefits Services provided the development, evaluation and a report for review by the Health Insurance/Bid Committee. The Committee met on 5/30/2019, reviewed and ranked the applicants. Bid presentations were not scheduled due to the ranking of the bidders. The Bid Committee selected Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Inc. DBA Florida Blue based on experience and qualifications, scope of services, quality of network and cost of services. Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Inc. DBA Florida Blue agreed to a rate guarantee of the initial rates for 36 months. Gallagher will be paid $1.75 PEPM through the balance of the Agreement. The Medical Claims for 2020 are estimated at $11 Million. The administration fee for the Plan Year 1/1/2020 to 12/31/2020 will be $625,000.00
