Approval for Emergency Purchase with Barrett for PPE
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This is an after-the-fact approval request for the purchase of 20,000 youth sized, cotton, washable and reusable face masks per the Covid-19 emergency guidelines in order to safely reopen schools. This purchase was made under an Emergency Purchasing Policy Exemption that was signed by the Superintendent on May 19th for PPE supplies due to COVID-19 in accordance with FS 287.057 FA6A-1.012 and MCSD Policy 6320. This emergency exemption was requested due to staffs inability to find available stock, quote, secure a po and then purchase PPE only to try and place the order and find out it is no longer available. MCSD needed to be able to purchase PPE supplies as they were identified .
