BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Section 1012.07, Florida Statutes, requires the State Board of Education to annual identify areas of critical teacher shortage areas based on the recommendations of the Commissioner of Education. Florida Statutes and School Board Policy require the Superintendent to recommend specific projected public school teacher shortage areas for the next academic year to the School Board for approval.
